Makita back pack dust extractor

New 18V X2 LXT (36V) Brushless Cordless Backpack Dry Dust Extractor offers more capacity and AWS Capability

Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional power tools and accessories, has announced the 1.6 Gallon Cordless Backpack Extractor, Tool Only (XCV18ZX) and Kit (XCV18PTX). Ideal for construction job sites, the XCV18 connects to angle grinders, rotary hammers, and the cordless drywall sander to remove dust, without cords.

“This cordless backpack dust extractor is powerful enough to handle the demands of a construction site,” declares Jenny Feng, senior product manager. “With AWS Capability, the XCV18 provides mobility by eliminating cords and a larger container for debris.”

The XCV18 is durable and compact, yet provides a larger capacity disposable filter bag for less frequent disposals. An efficient two stage HEPA filter captures 99.97% of particulates .3 microns and larger extending the life of the main filter. This system is compliant with OSHA standard for exposure to respirable crystalline silica (rule 1926.1153) and ETL certified to ANSI 1017 standard.

Power and Run Time
A powerful, Makita-built BL Brushless Motor generates 64 CFM of suction power and 44” of water lift. The BL Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. Two 5.0Ah 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries provide up to 62 minutes of continuous operation.

Cordless Convenience
Not only is the user free from cords, but the batteries are easily accessible on the side of the unit for uninterrupted workflow when the user needs to change them. Attachment holders on each side of the harness keeps the controller and attachments right at the user’s fingertips. A push-button power selection and a built-in L.E.D. light that illuminates the work area are found on the controller, which attaches to the harness waist belt. Padded, adjustable shoulder straps and waist belt provide a comfortable fit for a variety of sizes.

Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) Capability – An on-board tool-activated outlet starts and stops the vacuum/extractor with power tool usage. Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) utilizes Bluetooth® technology for wireless power-on/off communication between tool and dust extractor. Once connected via AWS, the AWS-equipped dust extractor will automatically power on or off when the AWS-equipped cordless tool starts or stops, running only when the tool is in use. This increases productivity on a single charge and reduces continuous noise at the job or work site. AWS is activated with an AWS Wireless Transmitter (198901-5, sold separately).

LXT Cordless Advantage
The Makita® LXT Cordless System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries, provides users with the most advanced, durable, and dependable 18V products. Four key components work together to create the LXT Advantage: fast-charging LXT Batteries, a Rapid Optimum Charger, industry-leading brushless motors, and Star Protection Computer Controls.

Makita 18V LXT Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.
